Former Abia state governor, Orji Uzor Kalu has condemned a provocative song against Igbo
Kalu said the anti-Igbo song is another ploy to provoke Ndigbo
He however declared that Igbo will remain peace loving and law abiding despite the provocation
Former Abia state governor, Orji Uzor Kalu has
strongly moved against a provocative song about Ndigbo currently
circulating in the country.
Kalu said Nigeria’s
ethnic, religious, cultural and political diversity should be seen as
an advantage rather than a minus such as hate speeches, Daily Sun
reports.
News gathered
that he however accused sponsors of the hate song, saying ''Nigeria has
come to stay as a heterogeneous nation and no amount of hate campaign
can break the country''.
News gathered that Kalu made this known on Tuesday, August 8, at a meeting with a group of Igbo professionals in London.
He said: ''The
anti-Igbo song is another ploy to provoke Ndigbo. However, despite all
these nonsensical theatricals, Igbo will remain calm, peace loving and
law abiding. We shall continue to resist all temptations as patriotic
Nigerians.
''Nigeria is a diverse country of different
ethnic groups, and no single tribe can lay claim to the country. We are
all stakeholders, be it Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Tiv, Efik, Ijaw and many
others.
''Igbos will continue to play a
significant role in national well being, regardless of these
provocations, especially in the areas of employment generation, wealth
creation and industrialisation''.
Meanwhile, News had reported that Orji Uzor Kalu, former Abia state governor pleaded with Nigerians to stop criticizing President Buhari's led administration.
The former governor asks Nigerians to support the president for the sake of the desired change wanted by all.
